The science of color is often called chromatics. It includes the perception of color by the human eye and brain, color theory in art, and the physics of radiation in the visible range (that is, what we commonly refer to simply as Light). Nothing fully explains the psychophysical perception of color appearance or why some objects not only reflect light, but also transmit light themselves.
